Company History

Glen Cowan & Associates Real Property Appraisals Ltd. was established in June 1996. The company was formerly operated as Dezman Cowan Real Property Appraisal Ltd. which originated from Gettel & Dezman Appraisal Consultants Ltd. that has provided appraisal and real estate consulting services to the City of Edmonton, and Alberta market as a whole, since the fall of 1981.

Glen Cowan and Associates provides unequaled valuation and consulting services and was among the first appraisal firms in the Edmonton/Alberta region to add Reserve Fund Planning Services, with the addition Canwest Reserve Planners and Insurance Appraisals. This remains an essential component of our firm’s professional service offerings and was created to provide quality reserve fund planning to all condominium properties and provide cost based valuations for all different property types for insurance purposes.

Glen Cowan, B. Comm., AACI is the founding principal of the company having practiced commercial real estate appraisal in Edmonton since 1988. Ed Jackson, B. Sc., AACI became a principal in 2006 and Pawel Martyniak, MBA, AACI, and Alan Cahoon, B. Mgmt., AACI, P. App became principals in 2014. A complement of nine professional appraisers and support staff make up the balance of the company.
